Sorting rectangles

Students had to sort rectangles from biggest to smallest, without measurement tools. After students made their decisions as to how the rectangles should be sorted we can back together and then pretended they were candy bars. My goodness how quickly their minds changed! Students then were able to measure the area of the rectangles using tiles and found how many rows and columns were in each rectangle.
