Spider Math

To keep with the feeling of Halloween, the students did an activity called spider math. Six groups of students were given a handful of spiders and needed to find out how many total legs their number of spiders has without counting the legs. We started out knowing that one spider had eight legs, but how many legs do 25 spiders have?

    1. How did you come up with 110 legs on 24 spiders? We'd love to know your thinking.
